it's all shiny and new

Do you like free stuff? I like free stuff! Free stuff could come to you... if you enter my giveaway...

But now, as promised, are some photos of my gorgeous new wardrobe acquisitions! I'm in love

from top to bottom:
american apparel button down
j brand cords
old navy wedges
jewelry was a present - a.k.a. I don't know where it's from? But I like it...

Don't you just love that feeling of a new piece of clothing, one that will look perfect with the rest of your wardrobe, fits seamlessly in with the rest of your look? That's how I feel about all these pieces. For one, my older readers will remember how I feel about this top from American apparel - I blogged about it a month or so ago, saying how much I wanted it but how it was too expensive for my sad little summer budget (this was pre-finding a job). Well, apparently my lovely friend Shannon reads my blog - actually it's hilarious, a lot of my friends read my blog, and then I try to tell them stories I've put up here, and they're like "already heard this..." - regardless, she got me my seafoam button down, and I'm so excited! It's oversize, it's sheer, it's that perfect shade of green. Love. Just love.

Next, on the subject of green, are my new cords! It's hard to tell in the photo, as they seem to have a magical, chameleon-like ability to change colors according to the light, but they are actually an army green. I got them on sale at Off Saks for a great sale, and I now own 2 pairs of green pants (you've seen the other pair most recently here, in that post) - pretty exciting.

And now, for my adorable wedges from Old Navy! Aren't they actually beyond adorable? I don't really wear heels or wedges in everyday life, but this is how I'm going to start - imagine these paired with the aforementioned cords and my favorite chambray shirt, or worn with my vintage floral dress! The possibilities are endless, and I will get to lord my height over all the short east-coasters. Mission accomplished.

Last but not least (boy am I talking too much in this post), is some new jewelry, courtesy of my cousin and aunt for my birthday! Everyone who knows me knows my love for jewelry, especially of the long-necklace variety. So these are perfect. I mean, I could basically run a shop out of my jewelry box - but who doesn't love a necklace with tassels?

Ummmm, ok. So yeah. I'm done talking. That was a lot of typing for not many photos. Hope you enjoy, and have a lovely night :)

yummy

GIVEAWAY still in progress! Check it out, if you feel so inclined...
And what does the title of this post refer to you ask? The yumminess of the shoes you are about to see...

all shoes/pictures from asos.com

So, my outfit for the internship was a little boring today, and after reading Seventeen magazine this afternoon (yes, I am over 17 years of age. I still enjoy it) and seeing these killer pair of heels from ASOS, I thought I should go take a look at their collection! And even though I couldn't find the exact pair I saw, I found some equally cool pairs of shoes - basically, what I would buy if I wanted to buy new fall shoes and had no budget. I mean, actually, they aren't that expensive, I just don't really have any money to spend... the woes of a college student. Can't really pick a favorite of any of them! I love boots, which makes me lean toward the hiking pair, but the burgundy pair of the heels is so pretty... and the wedges are so chunkily amazing (is chunkily a word? kind of sounds gross, to be honest). And I've been thinking I need a pair of brogues forever. So there you go! What shoes are you craving for this fall?

boho florals

So you may (or may not, I don't know how observant you are) notice that the accesories - belt and necklace, to be exact - in this outfit are the exact same as in yesterday's outfit. That's because this is from yesterday too! It's my outfit from tea, and I just really wanted to share it since it's the first time I've worn this dress long. And because I forgot to take pictures of myself, then went to zumba, and now I'm too gross to take pictures. Too bad, I looked simple and cute I thought, perfect for a little shopping afternoon - I know, I shop too much. No need to lecture, I get that enough from my mother. Love you mom...

So, I was running this outfit by my mom and sister the other day, when Natalie goes "Is that your underwear? I can see your underwear" - oops.... I changed, it's all good, we've just discovered that this dress is a bit sheer. The lesson? Wear a slip, or at the very least underwear that doesn't have butterflies on it.

I am a fan of these wedges! And it's the first time I've worn heeled shoes in public since breaking my heel, my calf hasn't been strong enough up until now. But to be honest, are they cute? Yes.  Was it painful? Heck yes. We all suffer for our fashion I guess. And on a side note, this locket opens and clicks shut! It makes me happy.

So, what was today's day? Jenny and I went downtown to hit up the Off Sakes sale, and I found an adorable pair of J Brand skinny cords in a really cool olive green (my second purchase of green pants in the last week. Problem? I think not). Now I'm spending the evening watching tv with my friends, should be lovely. I'm going to miss them all when I go back to D.C, it's so close now! Have a good night xx

p.s. giveaway. happening tomorrow. now it's on paper (on the web?) and I can't back out. good stuff
