Why is everyone leaving/studying for finals/taking finals and not here to take my pictures?! Leave me alone and this is what you end up with...

But I'm dressed so nicely for finals and wanted everyone to see! Actually I'm not really dressed for finals, since today I did no studying whatsoever. Turned in my papers and now I have a break until Saturday! Which would be exciting if, I don't know, I could spend that break at home? But no, no going there until Tuesday...

One more random thing, don't think I've shown you this -  it's actually another one of my purchases from my Columbus Day weekend in New York? Yes I know I'm behind. It's actually pretty light, perfect for the 50's and 40's we're having right now (I know. Not real December) if I want to be a little nicer than my Northface.

Less than two weeks until Christmas! Can you believe how quickly this year went by? I'm slowly starting to realize that I'm halfway done with my second year of college, and kind of starting to freak out... Regardless, have a lovely evening everyone!

I'm starting to lose faith in the fact that the sun actually exists on the East Coast...but seriously though. It's been raining for like a week straight. The blue sky peeked through for about 5 minutes after dinner today. I almost cried with happiness... It's gone now. In case you're wondering.

 We really need to stop taking photos around the outside of the Jesuit residence... people are starting to give us odd looks. But I hate people seeing me when we're doing photos! So we run around to the back of the building and I can do my awkward photoshoots in peace.

What would I do without my grandmothers' jewelry? They've both sent me so many beautiful pieces, my jewelry collection would seriously be sad without them - I mean look at my bejeweled pringle. Perfection.  

It's Friday! Can we all just take a collective sigh of relief right now? It's been a long week, I must say. But guess what? Two weeks from now,  I will be in NYC! As per our new tradition (yes, you can have a tradition after just one year), I will be going to visit my friend Beth at Fordham in New York every year over Columbus Day - though I may need to make an earlier visit next year for FNO... We'll go shopping, go to a museum, maybe find tickets for a show - and I get to see my lovely friend for a weekend :) Can't wait! Ok, now I'm going to go meet Colleen once she gets off of work in Chinatown for some lovely late-night cupcake bonding and a movie! Have a great weekend all

So you may (or may not, I don't know how observant you are) notice that the accesories - belt and necklace, to be exact - in this outfit are the exact same as in yesterday's outfit. That's because this is from yesterday too! It's my outfit from tea, and I just really wanted to share it since it's the first time I've worn this dress long. And because I forgot to take pictures of myself, then went to zumba, and now I'm too gross to take pictures. Too bad, I looked simple and cute I thought, perfect for a little shopping afternoon - I know, I shop too much. No need to lecture, I get that enough from my mother. Love you mom...

So, I was running this outfit by my mom and sister the other day, when Natalie goes "Is that your underwear? I can see your underwear" - oops.... I changed, it's all good, we've just discovered that this dress is a bit sheer. The lesson? Wear a slip, or at the very least underwear that doesn't have butterflies on it.

I am a fan of these wedges! And it's the first time I've worn heeled shoes in public since breaking my heel, my calf hasn't been strong enough up until now. But to be honest, are they cute? Yes.  Was it painful? Heck yes. We all suffer for our fashion I guess. And on a side note, this locket opens and clicks shut! It makes me happy.

So, what was today's day? Jenny and I went downtown to hit up the Off Sakes sale, and I found an adorable pair of J Brand skinny cords in a really cool olive green (my second purchase of green pants in the last week. Problem? I think not). Now I'm spending the evening watching tv with my friends, should be lovely. I'm going to miss them all when I go back to D.C, it's so close now! Have a good night xx

flower power

So, I didn't really feel like posting an outfit post today. With the heat index it was 107 degrees, so I was in a really small sundress (a.k.a my go-to when I want as little clothing as is socially acceptable - not like that is much of a restriction these days - in order to keep myself from dying of heat stroke), and one that I've worn many times before the exact same way - as seen here (minus the straw hat since that sadly didn't make the trip to college too well). But I was just thinking how I want to wear my 70's floral dress - you know the one I wore to the Taylor Swift concert, as shown here - but with all the extra fabric, it technically being long-sleeved and calf-length and all, I didn't think that would work out so well. So in my day's boredom I decided to make a slightly hippie-inspired collage instead! Enjoy

Oh, and exciting news! Made my first purchase using my employee discount at Banana Republic (as an employee at Old Navy I get discounts at all three of Gap Inc's major brands, oh yes) and it's so pretty! I'm not sharing what it is yet but hopefully I will get a post of it soon (hint: it's not really weather-appropriate currently, so you won't be seeing it in any outfit posts anytime soon. But it is, on the other hand, very appropriate for where I will be heading back to college in the fall). Now it seems making practically minimum-wage and  working weekend shifts looks more bearable! Bedtime for me, good night!
