goodbye home

Vintage cardigan, ring, and bracelet; H&M dress; Nordstrom scarf; Sorel boots

Mom shrunk my cardigan. I know, I know, it was so oversize to begin with you probably won't believe me when I say that I bought it when it was bigger. But I really do love oversize sweaters. Oh well, the good thing about it being super-oversized to start with is that post-shrinking, it's still pretty oversized.

One of my pretty new pieces of loot from Grandma's house this break - isn't costume jewelry just the best? I love how sparkly it is, it just brightens up anything you wear. And you should see all the jewelry I've picked up this break! When it comes to jewelry hand-me-downs, I really am a spoiled girl...

Glad I can finally put up a real outfit post! Last day before I go home but better late than never I guess? There isn't much in my head that's witty right now, probably it's all the post-surgery painkillers, so I will just bid you all bon nuit :)

zipper dress

I've decided that zipper dresses are my friends - first, I had the most adorable outfit last Friday showcasing my new zipper dress from Target (scroll down to two posts to see it on a hanger - I'm such a failure for not showing it to you in all its glory from Friday) and today is my other, a purchase from last year's New York trip!

h&m cardigan

hunter boots

So I should have listed another item of clothing in this outfit - my soffe shorts. Because honestly, this dress is too short. And for me, that's saying something (you may or may not have noticed, but short things don't really faze me). But it's so cute! I really don't know, I'll probably keep it and just make myself get over it, like I do with all my other inordinately short garments.

It's not really December. Or at least, the weather doesn't seem to think so - I didn't even wear a jacket today! How is that possible? I mean, the rain made it a bit chilly, but growing up in Minnesota has trained me to believe that come oh, October? You wear a jacket, no questions asked. But for some reason, Washington doesn't even come close to that standard. Which I guess I don't mind? It's just odd.

Guess what? Tomorrow is my last day of classes! Beyond excited right now. So good luck to all of you still in classes or, as some of my lucky friends are, to those of you almost done with finals. And have a good night!

I like to ignore the weather forecast

So Nicole and I have discovered today that apparently we think we are immune to the weather - it's not that we don't pay attention to it, we just disregard it. We wake up in the morning, check the weather and see that it will be 50 and possibly rainy. So what do we do? Wear skirts without tights, clearly.

My suitcase... because I'm going home tomorrow morning... Can't wait! Also, sorry these photos are cropped so horribly and are such disparate sizes. I'm dying inside a little too.

Regardless of the slightly inclement weather today, I think this outfit worked out rather well! This cardigan is oh-so-cozy, and of course this tshirt is probably the comfiest thing to ever exist - so glad that the freshman me made that decision 5 or so years ago to buy the oddly-oversized shirt (probably her first oversized piece ever) at Zara in Italy...

And this photos is me saying, "Sorry I'm too lazy to go outside and take real photos... Sorry you can see my shower flip flops and old Nordstrom bag in the background... This is awkward" - did you get all of that from the photo?

Pretending that photo never existed Regardless, I'm going home, I'm going home, I'm going home! In less than twelve hours may I add.

Also, I'm such a horrible blogger! So to update you on my life: Saturday I went to see my roommate from last year in her dance show, then had a movie night with the girls and ate some amazing gluten-free red velvet cheesecake that my friend Jessi baked (perfect complement to 500 Days of Summer, I think - actually, perfect complement to any aspect of my life?). Sunday was chill, I just went to yoga, did some work, had a capella practice in the afternoon... And today was my last day of classes before break! Also, Harmony (of the aforementioned practice) sang at the Lombardi Cancer Center today, which was so much fun - I love performing, and bringing some joy to the patients was really great. Overall, a good day!

Oh, and its my roommate's birthday in approximately 28 minutes... so happy early birthday Nicole! :)
