zipper dress

I've decided that zipper dresses are my friends - first, I had the most adorable outfit last Friday showcasing my new zipper dress from Target (scroll down to two posts to see it on a hanger - I'm such a failure for not showing it to you in all its glory from Friday) and today is my other, a purchase from last year's New York trip!

So I should have listed another item of clothing in this outfit - my soffe shorts. Because honestly, this dress is too short. And for me, that's saying something (you may or may not have noticed, but short things don't really faze me). But it's so cute! I really don't know, I'll probably keep it and just make myself get over it, like I do with all my other inordinately short garments.

It's not really December. Or at least, the weather doesn't seem to think so - I didn't even wear a jacket today! How is that possible? I mean, the rain made it a bit chilly, but growing up in Minnesota has trained me to believe that come oh, October? You wear a jacket, no questions asked. But for some reason, Washington doesn't even come close to that standard. Which I guess I don't mind? It's just odd.

Guess what? Tomorrow is my last day of classes! Beyond excited right now. So good luck to all of you still in classes or, as some of my lucky friends are, to those of you almost done with finals. And have a good night!

neon cardigan

When I pulled this cardigan out of the drawer this morning, Nicole was like "I have literally never seen you in something so bright" - and it's true! This cardigan is quite bright. And I mean, I can't really take credit for owning it, my mom bought it for me a while back, but I do like it! And, correct me if I'm wrong here, but I think I've been doing a pretty good job with colors lately. Thank you very much.

So here are some lovely photos of my neon-infused outfit - and to comment on my roommate's interesting choice of angle, they're "artistic"

We are having the weirdest weather lately! On Monday it was gorgeous, sunny and 70, and today it was rainy and in the 50's - and don't you just hate planning your outfits around rainboots? I mean, I feel like I complain about this every time I wear rainboots, but still. It's annoying.

Nicole just read the first paragraph and commented on how she finds it so amusing that every post seems to have at least one anecdote containing something random she said/did that day - so here's what, the third in this post? Today at dinner she spilled a glass of water on my dress. It was quite unfortunate considering I had to be at class about 15 minutes from then, and this dress is a lot made of a much heavier material than you would think - a.k.a. despite the multiple hairdryers we had pointed at it for the scant minutes before class, I still sat through lecture with a damp lap. Awkward.

But guess what? Thanksgiving is almost here! I was on the phone with my friend Mckenna today, and she gets to go home on Friday! I am unbelievably jealous... but one week from today, I will be in my own bed! And by my own bed I mean the guest bed... details. All I have is a Russian quiz tomorrow and the weekend to get through, and I will be free! Hope you are all as excited as I am...

rainy days

Seriously, the weather has been disgusting here the past few days. As you may or may not be able to tell in these photos, it was actually raining while we took them. It was seriously rapid-fire for about 30 seconds or so, with Nicole under my umbrella to keep my camera dry and me hoping they would be attractive so I could be finished getting soaked. Fun times.

I really enjoy this shirt. It's one of the two shirts I got at All Saints last week, and I feel like I'm wearing a sort of ironic pseudo-Hawaiian button down. Am I the only one feeling that? If you look at the close-up of the print farther down in the post you probably still won't be able to see this, but the print is actually of flamingos. I know right? I wouldn't have known either if it hadn't said so on the website. Kind of amazing.

I have to thank my dad for my new book bag. It used to be his briefcase, but I was always saying how much I loved it and how much I wanted it, and finally he gave it to me. He is just using his other old one that he got repaired. So sweet, thanks dad! Love you :)

I was actually wearing some short black shorts earlier in the day, kind of felt like I was rocking the Daisy Duke look, but it got so cold that I needed to change. Sigh. Cold weather is really coming. I know that you're freaking out now that I just complained about cooler weather (considering how much I've complained about warm weather in these last few months) but to clarify, I don't mind the cool weather, I just hate rain. The umbrellas, the boots - they can be fun for jumping in puddles from time to time, but getting soaked on your way to class? Not as much fun.

That's about it. Would type more, but for one you probably don't want to hear any more about my slightly monotonous super-interesting life, and for two I am watching a British miniseries called "Lost in Austen" on Netflix and feel like putting off my reading and finishing it off. Such is college. Have a good night!
