Beautiful Easter Sunday

 As my time at home draws to a close, I decided to take advantage of the lovely scenery an Easter Sunday spent at my uncle's house affords and made Natalie take a few photos of me - and while those didn't turn out too hot, I think the scenery shots I snapped afterward are quite pretty.

It's been a restful time at home, I've watched some TV, played some piano, done a little shoe shopping... and I love seeing my family, if only for a few days. Now we're sitting down to a little television and homemade popcorn (the amount of food I eat at home is borderline but actually really ridiculous). Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

So, apparently it's not spring. The weather last week? Just a cruel joke to make us all thing that it would be summer soon, when really, it's not. At all. Today, it was boots, jacket, and scarf weather. Is that not what I wanted? Maybe. But now that I have it back again, I'm missing my sunny, napping-on-the-lawn weather.

Wow. Nicole and I are watching Gilmore Girls right now and I really can't focus. So, I guess that's it? Good night all.

With the weather getting warmer every day, how much longer will I be able to wear my sweaters, my variuos copious pairs of boots, or my oversized sweaters? It is a serious concern. You see, to be honest, when I can't layer (as so often happens in the summertime), I just don't know what to wear! Without the cardigan and floppy hat, what is this outfit? A t-shirt and shorts. That's it.  And where's the fun in that?

So yeah. I'm really tired and can't think of anything else to write about. Went to the midnight premier of The Hunger Games last night, got into bed around 4 am, then got up at 8:30 for 3 or so hours of classes... It's been a rough morning. So on that note, I'm done! Have a lovely weekend all :)

Lots of detail shots, not many showing my face - Natalie wasn't the best at capturing the few normal facial expressions I managed to put on tonight while taking photos. However, finally got to wear my adorable lace dress we got on our trip to Canada!  I have to say, it's a bit shorter than I remember. Of course, all dresses I wear are short...

And speaking of hemlines, we picked up a few professional-looking pieces at Banana Republic today for my internship this summer, and I've discovered I don't do well with longer hemlines. Literally the closer something gets to my knee, the weirder I feel about it. Unfortunately, my practically-a-shirt sundresses that are oh-so-lovely and breezy in the summer won't really work in a business environment. Sigh. Also sigh, tomorrow is my last day at home! I can't believe how quickly spring break has gone by (and how horribly I've done at posting during it). And alas, my first week back at school will be absolutely insane, so chances of me actually posting regularly? Slim. Promise I'll try my best though - good night!

I'm in New York everyone! So excuse my lack of posting, but Fordham's internet doesn't like me - we've had to be quite creative to get me both Internet and my photos... When I picked this sweater up while mom and I were in Minneapolis at "My Sister's Closet" she told me it would look ridiculous. And I said, no, I bet you that it will look awesome on... and it does! Can you get better than shoulderpads and sequins? Did I just say that? Regardless... I feel like it's a bit too crazy for the preppy world that is Georgetown, so I couldn't wait to pull it out in the craziness that is NYC. As I've seen, anything goes

It's my trench coat! I feel like I vaguely referred to it a few months ago when I got it, saying that I would devote a post to its amazingness, and while I regret not doing that, I feel like it's finally time for it to be introduced. This coat alone makes all the trials of my work at Old Navy worthwhile. The good thing about working at Old Navy is that you get discounts at all their offshoots, including Banana Republic - yes please...

You know, I've always thought that picking a favorite piece of clothing in my wardrobe would be difficult. But to be honest, when I think about it, this button down is probably the greatest thing I own! I wear it all the time (probably more than I should sometimes), it's versatile, it's light... it's perfect! 

Self-timer again, didn't work so well though? Give you a hint why - my head wasn't actually supposed to be cut off in this one...

 Look at me, being a good little brand-ambassador for the Gap Inc. brands! I'm wearing a piece from each of their stores. I should get a raise for this or something...

 This necklace is just perfect for dressing up any outfit. While I love my outfit without it too (kind of simple, preppy, sportswear-ish?), add the necklace and it instantly has more flair. Can't remember exactly what I got it for, but since it's Forever 21 I'm sure it was less than $10, and with how often I wear it, I'm sure the cost-per-wear is in the penny range now (kind of like this shirt -  "clothes I wear too much," seems to be the theme of this post, right?)

Nothing interesting has happened today, to be honest. I had a voice lesson, made myself a pizza for lunch (with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil from the garden? yummm) and, as I said yesterday, Mckenna and I are doing zumba tonight! That I'm quite excited for. That, and the fact that I'm going to make some new frosting for these cupcakes that Natalie made a few days ago. They're gluten-free and vegan I believe (from that book the bakery Babycakes put out?) and they're actually quite good, but I'm not really a fan of the frosting Natalie made to go with them, it's a bit coconut-ey and not quite fluffy enough for my taste. So I'm going to make up a batch of the heart-attack-in-a-bowl, three-ingredient (butter - lots of butter - sugar, and milk) perfection that is my mom's classic frosting. Should be good :)
