spring in february

BDG cardigan (Urban Outfitters); Ecote dress (Urban Outfitters); Vintage necklace; H&M scarf; Target boots

Got back from rehearsal tonight and didn't feel like having any pictures taken of me - but I'm really a fan of my outfit today! It was literally the most beautiful day today, around 60 degrees and sunny! Of course I still wore a scarf and boots. But still, I did enjoy the escape from my winter coat, especially since it looks like tomorrow is a return to the rain.

This week has been going quite well so far (knock on wood?), I managed to stay much more on top of my reading this time around, and just generally seem to have more free time. After this, I have to do my Russian homework, and then I can go to bed. Remember how I never got to bed before 2 am last week? Not really my thing.

new (old) skirt

So, here's one of my cute vintage purchases from the other day! I would show you the cardigan, but my mom just pointed out that the shiny gold buttons look kind of cheap and that I should replace them, perhaps with some cute tortoiseshell ones. So when I put it on all I could see were the buttons and now that I've noticed them I don't think I can wear the cardigan until they're gone. Thanks mom.

J. Crew sweater
Banana Republic tank top
Pendant from a street fair
Vintage skirt
Aldo boots

You guys remember my crazy, tribal-esque blazer? I'm thinking it will look great with this skirt. I'll wear them together, then pick up the small dog in a Navajo blanket I saw walking down the street the other day, and I will be perfect. Hope you guys were all as scared as my family was when you heard that idea.

I don't even know why I put close-ups of this necklace anymore, anyone who has read my blog more than once please tell me that some of you have has already seen it way too much. Well, at least you can see the skirt pattern up close and observe that it does, in fact, practically perfectly match my blazer. Get excited. (Would it be too ridiculous if I did a joke post of the aforementioned skirt and blazer look? No? Good.)

Merry Christmas Eve everyone! I don't know about you, but today has been all about last-minute present shopping (which I will never do again, by the way, it's much too stressful) and watching my mom and Natalie bake Christmas cookies. Not helping, just observing and eating - compared to the two of them, I really shouldn't be allowed in the kitchen. It's the sad truth. But now I have lots of cookies to eat! Eating, that's really my job in this household...

birthday dress

GIVEAWAY. I've run out of witty precursor things to say about it, so there. Enter if you feel so moved.

So, I said this dress is my birthday dress, and that's not because today is my birthday (that would be tomorrow) or because I got this dress for my birthday (I think I got it sometime last year?) but for some reason, I always seem to wear it on birthday-related occasions! I mean, I've probably worn it about 6 times in the past year, maybe less, and twice has been either on my birthday or on the day of my birthday party. Weird, huh? Just something Natalie pointed out to me, she clearly has a better memory than I do

urban outfitters dress
coach satchel
born sandals
nordstrom rhinestone bracelet
other bracelets gifts

Pretty fun dress, don't you think? I love the colors (me? color?), and the tribal print is cool and on-trend for the moment. If I recall correctly, I got it last summer at Urban on a good sale - I wish I could shop at Urban more, but honestly it's a bit expensive for their quality, don't you think? Oh, and you get one picture below with my satchel, because I love it so much.

Here I have my own mini arm party ( a la Man Repeller - if you don't read her already, go do that now. She is actually hilarious). Normally I don't wear bracelets - they are actually probably my least favorite type of jewelry, don't really know why, but sometimes I just feel like throwing one on! Or several, as evidenced by this photo. I think this is how I will wear bracelets from now on. In multiples.

So maybe you're wondering why I'm celebrating today when I just said my birthday is tomorrow - or more likely, you don't think that much into detail about my life. Actually, that's probably a lot more likely. Well, regardless of your ambivalence towards my life, I'm going to tell you! The reason is I have to work tomorrow. Ugh. Really, Old Navy? You give me zero shifts last week, then decided to schedule me 6:15 - 11:00pm on my birthday and for 8:00 am the morning after. Cool, thanks. Well, there's my rant on the woes of working. That's all.

p.s. I just noticed that I now have 100 followers via Google Friend Connect, and I just wanted to give another shout-out to all my readers, love you all xx
